Christian Spiritual Passage Meditation

Finding Peace In Him
Daily Christian spiritual passage meditation creates deep calm for me. By reciting the Word, I allow God to work on my character. He transforms me (no matter my slow pace) into Christ's image.

Over time, meditation allows me to let go of external life chaos. When upsetting things occur, I call for His comfort. The benefits build over time.

How To Meditate
As a daily practice, slowly repeat (in your mind) an uplifting, character-enhancing Bible passage or Christian prayer, for 10 to 30 minutes or longer.

I use the Bible passages and prayers listed below. Please use your favorite Bible translation.

Christian Spiritual Passages for Meditation
Psalm 139:23-24* Search me, O Father, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
And lead me in Your way everlasting.
Psalm 23* Jesus, Lord, you are my shepherd, I shall not want.
You make me to lie down in green pastures,
You lead me beside still waters,
You restore my soul.
You lead me in path of righteousness
For Your name's sake.

Yea, though I walk
Through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
They comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
In the presence of those who oppress me.
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
All the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Proverbs 3:5-6* I trust in You, Heavenly Father with all my heart,
And I lean not on my own understanding.
In all my ways,
I acknowledge You.
And, You will direct my paths.
Psalm 51:10-12* Create a pure heart in me, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Let me always seek Your Divine Presence,
Let me hear and obey Your Holy Spirit.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Prayer of St Francis* Father, make me a daughter (son) of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.

Oh, Dearest Heavenly Father,
Please grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console,
To be understood, as to understand,
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving, we receive,
It is in pardoning, we are pardoned,
It is through living in Christ,
We are born to eternal life.

* Note: All passages reflect slight to significant adaptations from the originals. Refer to your preferred Bible translation for the original verses. I modified these meditations to help me feel closer to God as my Father and Jesus as my Savior. As the Holy Spirit moves you, you will find the right adaptation for your relationship with God.
